Take Action Now!

Texas has nine vacancies in its federal courts - more than any other state in the nation. Those vacancies have created a 12,000+ case backlog, totaling 19 years worth of work not done in our federal courts.

We need Senators Cornyn and Cruz to stop delaying justice and to submit qualified nominees that reflect the professional and cultural diversity of Texas.

Dear Sen. Cornyn and Sen. Cruz,

pI’m writing to urge you to act swiftly and nominate diverse, qualified judges to fill Texas’s many judicial vacancies in our federal courts.

As you know, these seats can’t be filled without your help. There are currently nine judicial vacancies in our federal circuit and district courts – including seven emergency vacancies.

We appreciate your submission of three nominees to fill some of the Southern District vacancies, but the unnecessary delays times between nomination and confirmation aren't proving a point or solving the problem.

The longer those seats go unfilled, the longer Texans lack full access to justice. Please submit and swiftly confirm qualified nominees that represent the professional and cultural diversity of Texas - and start preparing for the next vacancy, on May 15, 2015
